10 years ago, I have exhibited Strawberry Fields [ge.net.i.cal.ly mod.i.fied] installation in Brussels on the trees behind Magritte Museum, across the Museé des Instrument de Musique.
More than 300 hand made and hand painted strawberries were hung on branches by the capable hands of a city gardener and stayed there during the month of March 2007, when the trees were still without leaves. The idea was, of course, through genetical modification even giant size fruits can be produced on idle trees during winter time. Although strawberries grow on fields and these were not, I couldn't stop myself using the title of famous Beatles song; "Strawberry fields forever."
