Strawberry Fields [ge.net.i.cal.ly mod.i.fied] was an installation of 250 strawberries on "the trees" located at Rue Montagne de la Cour, in the center of Brussels, behind the Magritte Museum. The strawberries have been produced in wood on a model designed by Ali Cabbar and hand painted by the artist himself. While the bright colors and perfect shapes of the fruits hanging from the trees "modify" the urban landscape "genetically" and surprise the passerby, it also creates a question mark in the viewer’s head about the increasiing presence of genetically modified products in our daily lives. The installation was a part of BrxlBravo art festival.
